TRUST
Everything here is checkable
A marketplace asks two strangers to trust each other for an afternoon. Most answer that with badges. This page explains what each of ours is actually made of — including where the evidence is thin.
Four tiers, and what each one really means
Verification is a ladder, not a tick. A host deciding whether to accept a request is asking one question — has anyone checked this person — and the tier answers it without disclosing a single document.
Registered means an email was confirmed and nothing else. Phone verified means a working mobile number is attached. Identity verified means a government document was checked by a provider — Shortyme stores the outcome and never the document. Trusted adds a booking history that hosts have rated well.
We show the tier on every public profile and nothing beneath it. Where someone has stayed is not published, ever.
Email confirmed. Nothing else checked.
A working mobile number attached.
A government document checked — outcome kept, never the document.
Identity, plus a booking history hosts rated well.
Where verification stops
Identity verification proves a document is genuine and matches a face. It does not predict behaviour, and no platform that claims otherwise is being straight with you. What it does is make anonymity expensive: the platform always knows who booked, which is why the other party never needs to.
